Gothenburg, Sweden, 2016-Aug-31 — /EPR Retail News/ — The winner for best design idea and collection has been chosen amongst the graduates from Borås School of Textiles. The graduation show and announcement of the winner was held at Fashion Week Stockholm. The winner is Evelin Kägo, who took the prize with her collection entitled ‘Color perception’.

The prize for the best collection is part of Lindex’s commitment in supporting unestablished designers. The winner receives a grant worth SEK 50,000.

It feels fantastic to win Lindex grant for best design idea. Key for my collection is the relationship between knitted and printed textile layers in garments as well as the exploration of how colors influence each other, says winner Evelin Kägo.

Lindex is the main sponsor of the graduation fashion show and has collaborated for five years with Borås School of Textiles. Borås School of Textiles is one of Sweden’s most recognizes universities for training and research in textile and design. Lindex supports the education with knowledge of the design process and professionalism from a retail perspective.

The jury is composed of Lindex’s purchasing and design management team, led by Head of Design Annika Hedin. The jury’s motivation: ‘A collection that is visually energetic and voluminous with a delightful balance between solid and transparent surfaces. The look is experimental, artistic and colourful.’

Lindex will be initiating a collaboration with Evelin Kägo in the autumn. This will result in a joint design collection ‘Tomorrow’, that will be launched in early 2017. “The collaboration with Lindex gives me the opportunity to work with my designs on a larger scale and to introduce my garments to a wide audience,” says Evelin Kägo

This will be the third Tomorrow collection launched by Lindex. The purpose of the initiative is to support new designers and to create unique collections together with them.

“We are impressed with Evelin’s work in experimenting to achieve special effects with colour and movement. We are really looking forward to creating an exciting collection together with her,” says Annika Hedin, Head of Design at Lindex.
